Radon is cancer-causing radioactive gas. Colorless, odourless and occurs in nature as the decay of natural elements; testing is the only way to know your home’s radon levels.
RSC200 is a indoor real time radon monitoring device for homeowners and professionals
RSC200 - indoor real time radon monitoring device for homeowners and professionals
Radon is a radioactive substance found everywhere in subsoil. Difficult to detect due to 4 days decay time, was found to be damaging to human health. Radon and Its byproducts (that decay faster, within a range of hours) emit cancer causing alphaparticles.
To detect these decays (alpha-particles), represented schematically in figure (Pic. 3), currently high voltage ion chambers are required.
NAICAM developed a fast and cheap alternative RSC200, a small volume ion chamber that detects the decay of alpha particles.
The method measurement is based on the pulse counts of alpha decay, collecting positive ion charges on the cathode and processing the signal through the amplifier.
RSC200 Sensitivity corresponds to 20 cpm (counts per minute/1000Bq/m3) that equals 0.5 pCi/l at 10pCi/l.
